As owner of a professional daycare I have been most fortunate to have the building services and expertise of Mr Lindsay Neill's company since 2006, during which time he planned and constructed a modern, purpose-built centre for elderly people to precise specifications.
One of the main reasons why we chose Mr Neill was his high professional reputation as a builder par-excellence. Indeed, his name in the building industry is synonymous with three simple words: quality, dependability, trust.
One of the most impressive skills he has as a builder is an acute awareness of how vital communication is with his clients—indeed he contacted us regularly on a daily basis to provide feedback and listen to any potential issues we may have had in relation to the construction of the building from its inception to its completion.
This was reassuring at all times and alleviated the stress which can accompany a new build. In short, we had–and continue to have—an implicit trust in Lindsay as a contractor who offers superb quality and hands-on professional management.
In terms of support and expert advice in all areas of the construction, I have complete confidence in recommending him to others who may be considering any significant building project or smaller joinery work. The following are some of the aspects which most impressed me and my team:
I believe the choice of Crannog Construction has been a significant factor in the success of my business and points it up to the surrounding community as an example of how a modern daycare centre should look—both externally and internally. The finished work is simply fantastic!!
More recently Lindsay completed another project for me – he renovated a one hundred-year old flat in Greenock. We placed complete trust in him to oversee the whole flat – including plumbing, (installing a new boiler) rewiring, plastering, painting and decorating. He also selected and installed a new kitchen and bathroom to the highest standards of quality.
During the construction of a major build, while all of us are generally focused on the physical aspects of the build and its style, we may all forget just how vital it is that the builder we choose is approachable, flexible, and an excellent communicator. I can certainly say with absolute confidence that I found him to be an individual who relates to the anxieties we all have during such an undertaking and understands how to alleviate this pressure with a calm, professional approach to his clients.
It is simply another plus that he Lindsay is a very likeable chap as well. I cannot recommend his company, Crannog Construction, highly enough. He is an expert in his field, and as I had said previously, his professional pride in doing a job extremely well means he personifies that one indispensable thing: Quality.
Mr and Mrs Milne, Falkirk
The project was to construct a single story extension and carry out complementary internal works. The extension consisted of a hexagonal sun room, kitchen and new internal downstairs toilet and shower room.
We selected Lindsay after viewing extension works he had completed on a nearby property.
Lindsay was the main interface regarding the works from beginning to end. He organised the works and also kept me advised of technical queries, problems and the likes.
I would certainly recommend Lindsay given the finished product. A key aspect of the project was to ensure the new build matched the existing design, characteristics and overall appearance of the property - a fantastic effort was made on this.
The project ran to time and was also completed within the original budget projections.
Our family are pleased with the work and now thoroughly enjoy the home that Lindsay and his team have built for us.
Mr Hutchinson, Stirling
Our building was a semi derelict 19th century stone-built barn and mill which was converted to residential use. Lindsay Neill, with his team of subcontractors, was responsible for undertaking the basic ground works, foundations, drainage, new stone walls and facings, new timber roof, inner structural walls, windows and doors.
Lindsay was recommended to us by our quantity surveyor and we were delighted with his work, which came in exactly on schedule and budget. There were inevitably unpredicted changes to the original schedule and budget, which were handled most professionally. He was prompt, efficient, god at handling contractors, and throughout was a most pleasant person to deal with.
Several other professional builders visiting the mill have commented on the high quality of his work, and we have already recommended him to others.
Mr and Mrs J Trodden
Lindsay is a person that I trust and respect - as a man and a craftsman.
He takes justifiable pride in his craft - his personal standards are of the highest - this is demonstrated by result.
He recently drew upon his accumulated experience in the industry to manage a building project on my behalf - from drawing to completion as defined by the local authority.
By careful selection and co-ordination of all trades, close liaison with all interested third parties - especially the budget holder, architect and local regulatory departments of planning and building - he ensured a building of superior quality, delivered on schedule and within budget.
Concerning the budget - he controlled all spending on materials, fees and labour - reporting and accounting to the budget holder.
His active contribution was valued not only in matters of construction but also those of aesthetics and design change.
Lindsay has both the aptitude and attitude to succeed. He learns much from his experiences, and he applies what he learns.
I shall seek out his services for my next project.
